Seligmann and the Occult, a Lecture by Gražina Subelytė

Aug 20, 2015

Gražina Subelytė is an art historian and the Curatorial Assistant to the Director at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. This year she is commencing her PhD on Kurt Seligmann at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London. Her dissertation aims to trace and examine the occult themes, including magic and alchemy, that underlie Seligmann's visual and written œuvre, and at the same time to renegotiate his wider status within Surrealism and its relation to the occult.
