For Immediate Release
Weinstein Gallery is honored to announce Plasma, a solo exhibition by the young urban icon DALeast, on view from March 18–April 22, 2017 at the Weinstein Gallery SOMA location, 444 Clementina Street, San Francisco. Following 14 months of travel across Nepal, India and Bali, this much-anticipated exhibition features new paintings from the transcendental artist the Wall Street Journal recently named one of the “Top Ten Urban Artists to Collect Now.”
Plasma is the second in a series of solo exhibitions for DALeast and follows his 2014 show Laten Photon at Jonathan LeVine Gallery, New York. Plasma (“mouldable substance”), “is an electrically neutral medium of unbound positive and negative particles. Although these particles are unbound, they are not ‘free’ in the sense of not experiencing forces.“ Once again, the artist uses the definition of a scientific property and a spiritual element to challenge both the artist and the observer to explore the infinite concept of nature in the impermanence of form, and the form of impermanence.
